This is the original Metro-North Railroad FL9-AC Locomotive Operators Manual issued by the manufacturer – New condition.
very unique – printed in 1993.
The FL9 was built in 1955 to 1959 and 10 of those units were later converted to AC traction motors with a new 12 cylinder 710 CI engine. Seven FL9 Locomotives were used from the Metro-North Railroad and converted by ABB. The seven Metro-North Locos were MNCR2040 to 2046. the Long Island Railroad also had 3 of these FL9-AC Locomotives for a Total of 10 made for research and development – these locomotives were eventually replaced by the Genesis P32 AC locomotive.
